The Michi line by Rotel aims to express the maximum technology created by the Japanese brand but until now the range of products included only integrated amplifiers, pre and power amplifiers. Now it's the turn of the Q5, a CD player with D/A converter for other sources that is the ideal partner for the electronics of the same line. Probably the emphasis given by Rotel to the transport mechanism wants to focus attention on the mechanism with top loading of the disks, made of CNC aluminum and mounted on a group of floating springs to reduce vibrations and physically isolate the moving parts from the electronic circuits.

The on-board DAC is an ESS ES9028PRO with 8 channels, used 4 by 4 for the right and left channels and the fully balanced and differential output circuit, offers extremely low background noise at the XLR and RCA analog outputs. But CD audio is also available via coaxial and optical Toslink connectors, allowing the Q5 to function as a transport only.

The Q5 can also be used as a DAC, where the conversion section is open to external signals via coaxial, optical and PC USB input - thus appealing to those who have stored a lot of liquid music on their computer used as a music server - with Roon certification included.

In this regard, the Q5 supports 32-bit/384kHz PC-USB digital inputs (compatible with MQA and DSD 4x) and 24-bit/192kHz coaxial and optical, offering great versatility for your digital sources. Digital file compatibility is up to DSD 11.2 MHz and also includes MQA.

The construction is largely oversized with a chassis over 45 cm deep and a weight of 23.5 kg, fully balanced circuitry with double toroidal power transformer and highly selected components.

The color TFT display is also dedicated to liquid music, which can show the graphic indications of the album being played.

The Michi remote control, RS232 and Ethernet ports guarantee operation and integration with all the most popular automation systems.
