The VL Ring Crown series originates from the design of a lamp created by architect Vilhelm Lauritezen for the Danish Broadcasting House in Copenhagen in the 1940s. The floor-standing and suspended versions, with the characteristic organic shape, were installed at the Danish Broadcasting House. For this project Vilhelm Lauritzen also created the VL38 and VL45 lamps. The original VL Ring Crown was never used, but not long after, a Ring Crown was released that took inspiration from the original designs. In 1947, designer Finn Juhl, who worked for Vilhelm Lauritzen, used the VL Ring Crown as part of the interior design for the Danish porcelain manufacturer Bing & Grøndahl in Copenhagen. True to the original design and materials, the VL Ring Crown was reintroduced in 2019. The VL Ring Crown is crafted from untreated polished brass and is available with three, five or seven three-layer polished white mouth-blown opaline glass screens . It was complemented by the wall lamps and pendants originally installed in the Danish Broadcasting House. The VL Ring Crown family brings an authentic and distinctive touch to the most elegant interiors in the world, as well as a warm light to delicately illuminate contemporary life.
Lighting system
The device emits light directed mainly downwards. The opal glass makes the lighting of the area around the luminaire comfortable and uniform.

VILHELM LAURITZEN
Vilhelm Lauritzen (1894–1984) was one of the most influential architects of history of Denmark and was one of the symbols of the avant-garde of Danish functionalism. Some of his buildings, the Nørrebro Theater (1931–32), the Daells Varehus department store (1928–35), the Radiohuset (1936-41) and the first Kastrup airport (1937–39), represented the concentrated essence of contemporary life . Other notable buildings designed by Lauritzen include the Folkets Hus (1953–56) better known today as the Vega concert hall, the Shellhuset building (1950–51), and the Danish embassy in Washington (1958–60). In particular, the Radiohuset building and the previous version of Kastrup Airport - both classified as historic buildings - are considered unmistakable monuments of modernism as a European building genre.
