Enigma 545, designed by Japanese designer Shoichi Uchiyama in 2007, expands the Enigma product family. Enigma 545 is a larger version of the Enigma 425, based on a floating screen design supported by ultra-thin wires for a transparent and light expression. The name enigma stands for “mystery” and refers to the screens that appear to hover when illuminated and viewed from a distance. The design was in tune with Louis Poulsen's product philosophy and was also a new interpretation of the multi-screen system, where Japanese elegance combined with Scandinavian simplicity. In 2018, the original aluminum lamp was joined by the new black edition which expands the decorative possibilities of the design and creates a serene and atmospheric visual effect, while the light is shaped and channeled.
Lighting system
The luminaire emits a glare-free, soft and comfortable light directed downwards. The screen design ensures uniform surface illumination. The matte upper surface diffuses the light, while the glossy lower surface guarantees optimal reflection.
