Poul Henningsen designed his first lamps in 1925-1926 for an exhibition in Paris. His work with Louis Poulsen continued until his death in 1967. Throughout his life, Poul Henningsen sought to achieve glare-free, direct lighting in essential areas, creating soft shadows with incandescent bulbs as the light source. PH Louvre was designed for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Skodsborg, Denmark, in 1957. The globe-shaped fixture consists of 13 screens mounted on four supports. It is a simplification of an earlier lamp that Poul Henningsen designed in 1942, called Spirale.
Lighting system
The The device emits 100% glare-free light. The geometric, spherical design is based on the principle of illuminating all surfaces at the same angle and ensures uniform light around the luminaire, which illuminates the walls and ceiling. The matt painted lower surfaces and the glossy upper part of the surfaces express themselves in an attractive reflection of diffused light which creates an even distribution of light around the luminaire.
