The JBL Conceal Series C82W is a dual-panel, high-performance invisible architectural subwoofer system. Each C82W panel includes a rigid frame that houses the drivers and acoustic components that would be found on a conventional in-wall or in-ceiling architectural speaker. The enclosure attaches directly to the structural wall structure, while the face of the speaker, the FidelityGlass™ panel, features a smooth, durable surface designed to be finished similarly to the surrounding drywall. With the edges of the speaker flush with the drywall, the seams are taped and filled using common methods and techniques. Once properly sanded and prepared, the speaker surface can simply be painted or wallpapered to achieve the desired finish.

The C82W system consists of two panels, each containing two 8-inch low-frequency drivers that work in tandem with the FidelityGlass panel to deliver impressive bass performance. This combination of drivers and patented technologies produces high-performance sound typically found only in conventional in-room subwoofers.

The base of the C82W panel is a compression-molded baffle that provides a rigid frame for the entire assembly. The C82W subwoofer panels are designed to be used with custom external amplification with the appropriate equalization and protection circuitry to optimize performance and ensure long-term reliability. Installing the Conceal Invisible Subwoofer System is accomplished much like installing a standard drywall patch. For new construction, a wooden placeholder accessory is available to mark the location during drywall installation. Detailed instructions are available to ensure proper installation. After installation and double-checking the panel registration to the drywall, it is critical to test the speakers for proper operation with an amplified sound source before moving on to the taping and drywall finishing steps.
