The MC6-HT is the angled version of the MC6. By designing the speaker with a fixed tweeter and woofer angle, MartinLogan was able to tune the speaker's performance much more precisely than was possible with universal pivoting designs. By eliminating the variable of tweeter and woofer angle, the precision Vojtko crossover network has been tuned for more accurate and predictable results. The MC6-HT is recommended for applications where the listener will spend a majority of their time not directly below the speaker.

The Sound of Invisibility: Folded Motion ® Tweeter
MartinLogan's Folded Motion tweeter utilizes an extremely low-mass diaphragm that "squeezes" air, requiring significantly less excursion than the typical 1-inch dome tweeter. Its folded design allows for a much larger surface area (compared to a typical 1-inch dome tweeter), controlled dispersion characteristics, and incredibly low distortion. It is a marvel of audio engineering that delivers much of the high-frequency detail, speed and response of a large dynamic electrostatic panel in a small space.
This thin-film transducer design packs all the precision and delicacy of an electrostatic panel into a small space. Folding the incredibly lightweight film into an accordion-like structure increases surface area, giving Folded Motion tweeters eight to ten times more surface area than typical tweeters. This ideal combination of lightness and size produces superior accuracy, extended frequency bandwidth and increased output capacity; all with faster, more efficient transient response and virtually zero distortion. In these features, the Folded Motion tweeter design can mimic the performance of a large electrostatic panel within the constraints of a more traditional speaker enclosure.

Spring Binding Posts
Featuring easy pre-installation access, our spring binding posts feature a large access hole for 4.5mm wire and connect via banana plug, pin or bare 12AWG wire.
Micro-Drilled Grilles
The MC6-HT features ultra-low-profile, paintable, micro-drilled grilles with no visible bezel for a virtually invisible integration into any wall or ceiling. A series of powerful magnets hidden inside the speaker quickly secure the grilles in place, reducing the risk of warping or damage during installation. Optional square grilles are available for the MC6-HT.

Hand-Selected Components
In designing each crossover topology, we take the drivers themselves into consideration. Carefully selected drivers, designed for specific performance characteristics, are held within their optimal frequency range by the custom Vojtko crossover.
Each crossover is handcrafted using exceptional polypropylene and polyester capacitors, custom-wound, oversized steel-laminated low-DCR inductors, and double-thickness PCBs. This precisely tuned network preserves even the most microscopic sonic nuances while handling the full dynamics of any source. It's a recipe for incredibly low distortion and seamless driver integration.

Optional Retrofit Enclosureoptional at time of order
All Motion CI in-ceiling loudspeakers have the option of a rear enclosure or retrofittable enclosure. This helps contain the sound coming from the back of the speaker to dramatically reduce unwanted sounds that can travel through the floor and into the living space above the speaker. For those wanting more bass output or when sound control is not required, you can simply choose to use the MC6-HT without the optional enclosure so that it can take full advantage of the larger air volume provided by the ceiling space.
