The Pro-Ject Box Design DS2 series expands with the Stereo Box DS2, a solution that is specifically aimed at all those who want to create a refined HiFi solution in a compact form factor based on a high-quality stereo integrated amplifier.

The Pro-Ject Stereo Box DS2 is a stereo integrated amplifier designed primarily for analogue sources. Among the four available inputs there is a phono preamplifier for MM and MC cartridges, it is equipped with Bluetooth and also offers control via app.

Designed in a dual-mono design, the Pro-Ject Stereo Box DS2 provides a power of 2x80 Watts into 8 ohms and 2x135 Watts into 4 ohms. Furthermore, the Pro-Ject Stereo Box DS2 is able to optimally control a wide variety of speaker systems and impresses with a dynamic and detailed sound.

The focus of the Stereo Box DS2 is on analogue sources, where three analogue inputs are available in the form of pairs of RCA sockets. The fourth analogue input is designed as a phono stage. What is particularly striking is that the Pro-Ject Stereo Box DS2 is not limited to units with MM cartridge systems, but is also equipped for units with MC cartridges. The system to be used is determined using a button on the back, with the impedance being 47 kOhm for MM cartridges and 100 Ohm for MC cartridges.

Although the focus is on analogue sources, the Pro-Ject Stereo Box DS2 integrated amplifier does not completely ignore the digital world, which is why it is equipped with a built-in Bluetooth module that also supports aptX, so that signal transmission in "CD quality" can be achieved with the corresponding smartphones, tablets or portable audio players.

Another special feature of the Pro-Ject Stereo Box DS2 is that it has an integrated headphone amplifier, designed as a separate circuit and accessible via a 6.3 mm stereo jack connection directly on the front.

The Stereo Box DS2 amplifier is equipped with solid screw terminals for connecting speaker systems, which on the one hand provide a secure hold for cables assembled with banana plugs, but also for bare cables. The Stereo Box DS2 also offers two line outputs, one with a fixed level and one with a variable level. A 12V trigger input and output allow you to centrally interconnect and control several components of the Pro-Ject Box Design series.

This is especially important if you use the Pro-Ject Box ControL app. This app and smartphones connected via Bluetooth can be used to control not only the Pro-Ject Stereo Box DS2 itself, but also other components of the Pro-Ject Box Design series. An infrared remote control is also included in the scope of delivery.

In addition to the aforementioned headphone jack, there is a central volume control on the front, which is a high-quality motorized potentiometer. Two buttons select the input and the corresponding status LEDs indicate which input is active. The phono preamp level can be increased by 6 dB using another button and a button is used for pairing with Bluetooth devices.
