Limited edition turntable of 400 units to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the company. Complete with a pre-assembled 12" Fatboy Gimbal tonearm. Direct drive. 30.48cm diameter, 14Kg weight aluminium platter with rotor operation. The tonearm is inserted into the internal circuit board. Precise and servo-controlled motor by an active feedback circuit that directly measures and controls the speed of the platter to obtain the most consistent and accurate reproduction possible. Designing VPI's Next Generation Direct Drive Motor Technology

Harry Weisfeld's 2012 CLASSIC DIRECT direct drive turntable was an outstanding technical achievement, earning a Class A+ rating from Stereophile Magazine. This award-winning turntable was loosely based on VPI's Classic Series turntable technology, and included a thick aluminum plinth and tonearm, and an inverted platter bearing that rode on a PEEK thrust disc. Combined with a cutting-edge BLDC direct drive motor, the CLASSIC DIRECT was created. The Classic Direct provided a stable and solid foundation for the music, allowing the listener to hear deeply from the recorded grooves to the treasures buried within!

Designing a new turntable to celebrate VPI's 40th anniversary gave VPI the opportunity to update their direct drive motor technology to incorporate advances in materials and motion control technologies.
