High-end turntable with high mass platter and similar features to the X9/X10

The X8 is a true high-end turntable with significant technical features adopted from the Xtension 9 and 10.

At a relatively low cost you get a heavy TPE-damped platter, machined from a single block of turned aluminium and precisely balanced. A neodymium magnet is built into the plinth, reducing the load on the bearing. Given the enormous weight of the platter, you get a smooth rotation base for your vinyl and perfect speed stability.

The massive MDF chassis and Pro-Ject 9cc EVO carbon tonearm are also part of the X8. The main differences to the Xtension 9 and 10 are the top of the main platter and the magnetic feet. Instead of a glued vinyl surface on the platter, they have returned to the use of a non-slip mat. In fact, the X8 comes standard with the standard felt mat, allowing the end user to customize it with higher performance mats or different colors, which is impossible on the Xtension 9 and 10 models due to the vinyl top.

The new feet are still made of aluminum and are adjustable in height. The magnetic suspension has been replaced by a TPE damping technology, very effective in decoupling the X8 from the surface on which it is placed. This is the best choice for a cheaper turntable, as the new feet are quicker and easier to mount than magnetic ones and require less maintenance over time.

What is True Balanced

The moving coil cartridge that we offer as standard on the Super pack version, makes the X8 ready for the balanced phono connection. The X8 comes standard with a 5-pin output connector and the standard Connect it E 5P -> RCA semi-balanced cable. If you upgrade to the optional 5P to XLR fully balanced version and use a balanced phono stage, such as the Phono Box DS3 B or any of the RS/RS2 series phono stages, you are fully primed for the True Balanced experience. The improvement is immediately noticeable in the increased dynamics, reduced noise and a marked improvement in signal-to-noise ratio. You will surely hear musical passages that were not there before!
