A direct evolution of the acclaimed 2018 VPI Prime (worth €5,900), the new Prime 21 Plus takes performance to the next level, while offering extremely simple and straightforward setup.
Designed for music enthusiasts who want a high-end listening experience without the need for advanced technical skills, the Prime 21 Plus is ready to use in minutes: simply unbox it, plug it in and in less than 20 minutes it will be fully operational.
VPI provides all the tools necessary for setup, as well as a USB stick with a dedicated setup video tutorial.
Design and Construction
The chassis consists of an aluminum top plate supporting a 53mm MDF plinth, designed to eliminate any resonance unwanted vibrations.
The 300 rpm motor is housed in a sturdy high-mass steel and aluminum case, improving damping and ensuring stable and silent rotation.
The turntable also integrates a new pre-mounted 10.5" 3D Gimbal tonearm, an evolution of the unipivot of the previous model, for even more precise and smooth tracking.
The isolation feet, derived from the prestigious VPI HW-40 Anniversary Edition (€19,500), ensure excellent decoupling from the support surface, further reducing vibrations.
Premium features
The Prime 21 Plus includes the VPI Shyla MC cartridge, custom-made by Audio-Technica, and the VPI Weisline phono cable developed in collaboration with Nordost, for a pure and detailed signal.
Completing the equipment are a stabilizer Delrin-Steel Clamp and a 5 cm thick, 10 kg aluminum platter, guaranteeing exceptional inertia and stability.
