T2 W, the first Wi-Fi turntable from Pro-Ject

Innovative and interesting, it brings a breath of fresh air to the turntable sector

The T2 W represents a courageous attempt to combine analogue vinyl reproduction with the practicality of digital, an attempt that Pro-Ject carries out with enthusiasm.

The heart of the T2 W is a belt-drive turntable, equipped with a 9-inch aluminium arm and Sumiko MM cartridge, also equipped with electronic speed control; taking it to another level is the presence of a wireless module, which allows you to stream your musical content to speakers and all other devices connected to the network. The “Pro-Ject Control” app simplifies installation and control; Among the salient features we find the 48kHz/24bit lossless FLAC output and automatic streaming when the stylus is lowered into the groove.

Playing records, making the vinyl format a “modern” system, has never been so simple.

The T2 W enters the category of Pro-Ject T Series turntables, taking the highest step. The T1 model is already present in the same category in its variants. Among the numerous improvements introduced in the T2 W, some deserve to be mentioned immediately: let's start with the 9” straight aluminum arm with integrated shell, the thicker 10mm glass platter, a new head, and for the first time a collaboration with Sumiko, a historic US brand, mounting the Sumiko Rainer MM head. The main innovation however is the wireless transmission that does not use Bluetooth, like the previous T1 BT, but the Wi-Fi protocol. Streaming technology allows simultaneous sending of signals with resolution up to 24 bit/48 kHz in lossless FLAC format to multiple UPnP/DLNA devices. However, there is also "lossy" transmission to ensure compatibility with a greater number of devices.

Streaming is managed via the new Pro-Ject Control App. It is worth highlighting the compatibility with existing wireless platforms and a second transmission mode is available for Apple and Bluesound systems.
