The PrimaLuna EVO 400 is the top model of the Evolution range dedicated to stereo preamplification. Designed for top-end Hi-Fi systems, it combines the musicality of tubes with extremely accurate construction and a particularly comprehensive set of connections.

The presence of XLR inputs and outputs, alongside the RCA connections, facilitates its integration into even the most advanced systems, offering greater flexibility in connection with compatible sources and power amplifiers.

The design uses six 12AU7 tubes along the signal path and two 5AR4 rectifier tubes in the power section. This configuration helps create a smooth, dynamic and nuanced reproduction, maintaining the naturalness of the musical message intact.

In keeping with PrimaLuna tradition, the EVO 400 is assembled with particular attention to every detail. Point-to-point wiring, carefully selected components, and a robust chassis ensure long-lasting reliability and performance worthy of a reference audio system.

Balance, depth, and naturalness

The EVO 400 was developed to transfer the signal to the power amplifier while preserving its integrity, dynamics, and harmonic richness. Its sonic character stands out for its ability to combine transparency and musicality, avoiding any sensation of coldness or fatigue.

The acoustic stage appears wide and well-developed in depth, with instruments and performers placed precisely and believably in space. Voices gain body and presence, while the midrange delivers the typical tonal richness associated with the best tube electronics.

The higher frequencies are open, airy, and detailed, yet always smooth and controlled. The low range, however, retains speed, articulation and definition even in the most complex passages.

Thanks to the low output impedance of 256 Ω, the preamplifier is able to interface effectively with numerous power amplifiers, ensuring stability, control and a balanced sound response across the entire frequency spectrum.
