Louis Poulsen Ph 3½-3 Suspension lamp 33 cm red

To celebrate Poul Henningsen's 120th birthday on September 9, Louis Poulsen is launching the new PH 3½-3 pendant. The PH 3½-3 pendant is based on Poul Henningsen's original designs from the late 1920s and early 1930s featuring his famous three-shade system. The pendant has metal shades, available in green, yellow, red and white. The body of the fixture is made of brown matt brushed copper. All colours are inspired by Poul Henningsen's colour universe. Like the designer, the fixtures are also very colourful. As an additional feature, all shades have a rounded white edge that accentuates the familiar profile of the three-shade fixture and creates a beautiful optical symmetry. The shades are pressed at the Louis Poulsen factory in Vejen by Louis Poulsen staff, as only a few people know this technique. Even though the luminaire was created over 80 years ago, it is both modern and classic, suitable for a wide range of interior designs. It is considered a charming, simple, functional and unpretentious luminaire. The PH 3½-3 pendant lamp is a piece of Danish design history. It provides functional and decorative lighting and enriches any interior with its presence whether switched on or off. It looks beautiful on its own or combined with other luminaires.

Lighting system

The luminaire is 100% glare-free, with a design based on the principle of a three-shade system, which directs the majority of the light downwards. The shades are made of deep-drawn aluminium with a white inner surface that ensures a gentle distribution of light downwards. The light directed downwards is soft and pleasant.

POUL HENNINGSEN

Poul Henningsen (1894-1967), a hugely influential Danish designer, architect, writer and cultural critic, had a huge impact on Danish thinking and design. His legacy as an original master of light is an integral part of the Louis Poulsen tradition of creating exceptional light.
