Louis Poulsen Above pendant lamp 17 cm white

The Above pendant lamp by Danish designer Mads Odgård represents an overtly simplistic lighting design. Odgård is rigorously minimalist and creates transparent products, where function is considered on the same level as form and quality. “I designed a lamp that represents my mantra: how dare you with simplicity in design? I prefer to take away rather than add and always try to do things as simply as possible,” says Mads Odgård. The silhouette of the lamp represents a graphic triangle that creates a pleasant, downward-directed light. The arch-shaped opening at the top, hence the name “Above”, not only reveals the cable, but also allows the light to spread upwards, creating a warm and controlled ambience.

Lighting system

The fixture emits a soft, comfortable light, directed downwards. The truncated cone shape and the satin white painted interior help to ensure uniform light distribution. The opening in the upper part of the fixture provides decorative lighting of the upper arch and ensures that the fixture maintains maximum aesthetic expression, whether the light is on or off.
