The original design of the PH 3/3 pendant light by Poul Henningsen is based on his famous three-shade system (System PH), which dates back to 1926 and is carefully calculated to provide soft, glare-free light. Inspired by Poul Henningsen's fascination with light and colour, the PH 3/3 Pale Rose pendant light features beautiful, hand-blown, pale pink glass shades, sandblasted on the underside to provide optimum light. This is complemented by brushed brass elements such as the socket and canopy, which will take on a beautiful patina over time or can be polished to preserve their appearance. The classic PH 3/3 Pendant Light is designed to hang high, bathing your room in a soft, pleasing light. Inspired by Poul Henningsen's interest in colour and light, the pale pink colour adds an elegant touch to any interior.

Lighting system

The fixture is based on Poul Henningsen's renowned three-shade system and reflects light downwards while emitting a soft light all around. The pale pink hand-blown opal glass shades are polished on top and sandblasted opal white on the bottom, diffusing a soft and poetic light.

Materials: Pale pink coloured blown glass in four layers with white underside. Polished on the outside, sandblasted white on the bottom. Brushed and untreated brass with fine lines.

Information

Please note that the brass is untreated. This means that if not polished, the surface will change over time and develop a patina. Diffuser with frosted glass base included to ensure diffused light distribution.

Poul Henningsen (1894-1967), a hugely influential Danish designer, architect, writer and cultural critic, had a huge impact on Danish thinking and design. His legacy as an original master of light is an integral part of the Louis Poulsen tradition of creating exceptional light.
