The System PH was created to provide efficient, more pleasant and completely glare-free lighting in homes as electric light began to replace candle chandeliers and kerosene lamps in the late 1920s. The commercial sector and public administrations were the first to appreciate the extremely functional and ultra-modern appearance of the PH lamp. However, in most homes, the lamp of choice was still the chandelier above the dining table, now electric and equipped with silky shades. With his three-shade reflective system, Poul Henningsen wanted to demonstrate that that same atmosphere could be achieved of kerosene lamps without compromising the quality of lighting. However, many wanted a warmer and more welcoming light than that spread by light bulbs at the time. Silk still made the light softer and created the atmosphere, but at the expense of the quality of the light itself. For Henningsen and Louis Poulsen this problem turned into an opportunity to reach private customers. Around 1930, Louis Poulsen launched a large series of PH lamps. Made specifically for domestic use, many were smaller in size, suitable for any environment and less expensive than the classic PH lamps of the period. To give more warmth and personality to the home, all the new lamps were available in amber, red and yellow glass, in addition to the classic variants with opal white, opaque or metal screens. The series was a huge success. The PH 2/1 Pale Rose Brass Table is suitable for our times, where discreet but clear lighting is often preferred in a welcoming environment. Poul Henningsen also had a thing for pale pink and the way it could diversify the look of a lamp and its light. Around the same time, he created Rosa Septima, a particularly delicate variant of the extraordinary seven-screen glass crown. Thirty years later, he used the same light pink tone on the inside sides of the elegant brass screens of the iconic PH Artichoke. Today, due to its small size, the PH 2/1 Tavolo Brass Pale Rose is suitable for every corner of the home, on a coffee table, a shelf or a windowsill which will be enhanced by an island of light and a romantic atmosphere. Its soft curves, the unique silhouette of the three-shade lamp, combined with the pale pink color, light edges and white textile cable make it stand out in any environment. The PH 2/1 Tavolo Ottone Pale Rose is equally attractive when the light is off, where the shiny surface of the delicate, mouth-blown Italian glass reflects its surroundings. Like the 1930 original, the PH 2/1 is available in elegant brushed brass with a rocker switch. Over time, brass tends to create a patina that will give even more character to the table lamp, but it can be polished from time to time to maintain the original finish.

< strong>THE SECRET IS IN THE DETAILS

The PH 2/1 Pale Rose Brass Table Lamp features elaborate design details that come together to create an elegant expression and a soft, warm light to the interior of the house. The pale pink glossy screens are romantic and look to modern interior design trends, while the inside of the screens are sandblasted white and create the glare-free light typical of Louis Poulsen lamps. Additionally, if left untreated, brushed brass will form an elegant patina over time, adding character and charm to a lovely lamp.

Lighting system

Made based on Poul Henningsen's three-reflective screen system, this luminaire provides a soft light directed downwards, while emitting extraordinary brightness. The pale pink mouth-blown opal glass screens are polished on top and, combined with a matte white sandblasted opal underside, produce a soft, romantic light.
