Improving on every performance parameter of the original, the new SC15 Prisma MK2 is a fully-featured network player and DAC with pre-amp functionality, automatic and manual speaker equalization, WiSA high-resolution wireless speaker connection technology, advanced digital-to-analogue conversion and utilizing the Prisma suite of control and connectivity technology.

Technology

The SC15 Prisma MK2 continues Primare's tradition of delivering stunning performance from compact, elegant devices that are easy to install in any living environment; With the SC15 Prisma's three-quarter cabinet, even greater possibilities open up to deliver the highest quality musical performance and access to any room in the home.

The SC15 Prisma MK2 is a fully-featured network player and digital-to-analogue converter, providing digital-to-analogue conversion with up to PCM 384kHz and DSD 256 capabilities, as well as full digital media access and system management via Prisma connectivity and control technology.

With selectable fixed or variable output, the SC15 Prisma MK2 can be used as an advanced network player for any system in fixed mode, or, in variable mode, connected directly to a pair of powered speakers for a compact high-performance stereo system.

The SC15 Prisma also includes WiSA high-resolution wireless connectivity with WiSA-enabled high-performance powered speakers and subwoofers, providing an additional output option for this extremely versatile instrument.

Additionally, with WiSA speaker connection, the SC15 Prisma MK2 output analog can be configured for wired subwoofer output.

Prisma – Network and Multiroom Technology

Prisma is a set of technologies that provide the widest range of functionality and features of a network music player. Created primarily as a streamer that would allow everyone, everywhere, in the home to explore, discover and share the deeply satisfying experience of high-performance music playback, Prisma provides multi-room/multi-zone connectivity and control of both wired and wireless streamed and stored media, all managed from mobile devices via the dedicated Prisma system control app.

In addition to AirPlay 2, Bluetooth®, Roon Ready and Spotify Connect®, Prisma features Chromecast built-in, a unique streaming portal that allows easy direct connection to hundreds of streaming apps and services, including voice control, for the best possible performance and user experience.

New to the SC15 Prisma MK2 is the automatic Room and Manual EQ function using a program built into the Prisma app. The EQ function can be used with any iOS mobile device, while Android devices require the use of the Zen microphone (currently backordered until March 2024).

The Room EQ automatic tuning method is easy to use. During the measurement sequence, the speakers will play pink noise for 60 seconds while the iOS device or Zen microphone is moved around the room in large circular movements. The EQ function samples all positions in the room to identify each room mode.

Once the measurement sequence is complete, speaker compensation will be automatically calculated and the system will be applied a bass filter to counteract boundary effects, compensating for interference caused by the room.

Once the room is measured and the system is calibrated using the automatic room equalizer, you can manually adjust the speaker response to your personal preference.

System Construction

With the 15 Series, we offer a carefully considered range of models to allow the best selection to suit any of your system needs. For example, the ultimate 15 Series system might be the DD15 CD transport, the SC15 MK2 Prisma network player and preamplifier, the I15 analogue integrated amplifier and the R15 MM/MC phono preamplifier, allowing the best performance, analogue or digital, with the greatest number of connection options. However, additional digital inputs may not be needed, MC phono pre-amplification may not be a requirement, or simply to accommodate budget or size considerations, a system consisting of the Prisma CD15 and network player could be assembled with an I15 MM integrated amplifier with MM15 MM phono module installed. This compact and reasonably priced system provides playback of multiple analogue sources, including vinyl records, as well as digital discs, stored or streamed media playback, with remarkable power, control and connection flexibility.
