Louis Poulsen Nyhavn outdoor wall lamp white

Nyhavn Parete was designed by Alfred Homann and Ole V. Kjær in 1976. Nyhavn Parete won a prize in a competition for lighting old and historical urban areas held by Louis Poulsen. Alfred Homann had worked on the designs and models before the competition and so Homann and his colleague, Ole V. Kjær, were able to submit the material in just five days. Alfred Homann explains the idea behind the wall lamp: “It was important that the luminaire was smaller and more discreet than other products on the market at the time.” The lamp features a conical shade and three anti-glare rings that emit soft, upward-directed light.

Lighting system

The conical shade provides comfortable, downward-directed light with a wide beam. The inside of the shade has a matt white painted surface that ensures even light distribution. The rings provide control of light dispersion and direct a small amount of light to the upper side of the shade for self-illumination.

This product complies with the requirements of the European Directives, RoHS Directive 2011/65 and 2015/863. The product has been designed so that it can be completely dismantled and reused. Louis Poulsen is part of ELRETUR which guarantees the reuse of electronic waste (WEEE) in Europe. This product must be treated as electronic waste. The product is packed in a fabric bag and a cardboard box. The cardboard is made from at least 75% recycled fiber. The additional cardboard material comes from FSC approved sources.

Terminal block: 1x3x2.5mm². Cable entry: 2x bottom + 2x rear entries for cable Ø 10-14.5mm. Looping connection: allowed, max. 3x1.5mm².
