PureStream DSD512 Engine

At the heart of the PMG Signature 512 DAC is a true revolution in digital audio: our PureStream DSD512 engine. Designed by engineer Doug Goldberg and crafted with the impeccable precision of chief engineer Bob Stadtherr, PureStream operates at a blistering 22MHz, upsampling any incoming PCM or DSD signal to a native 8X DSD stream—far beyond standard formats and completely free of PCM conversion or decimation.

This ultra-high-resolution DSD stream is then processed by our 64-tap SpectraWave sequencer, which aligns and refines the signal with surgical precision, reducing noise and distortion and preserving every musical nuance. From there, the signal passes directly to a simple and elegant analog low-pass filter—no complex conversion stages, just pure music.

The PMG Signature 512 isn't based on standard DAC chips. This is a custom-designed platform, built from the ground up to achieve what no other DAC can: sonic transparency with SINAD below -100 dB and virtually zero output noise. Multiple, ultra-stable reclocking circuits, galvanic isolation between all digital inputs, and complete separation between digital and analog sections ensure jitter-free, noise-immune performance.

Designed as a patent-pending, fully discrete FIR architecture, SpectraWave operates at the same extreme 22 MHz sampling rate as our PureStream DSD512 processor. Engineered from the ground up to handle ultra-high-speed data streams, its 64 precisely tuned taps work in real time to align musical transients with absolute accuracy, ensuring perfect phase coherence and eliminating temporal smearing.

PureStream DSD512 Architecture

The entire signal path has been designed to fully preserve the musical information:

the digital stream coming from any input is processed by the famous proprietary Digital Lens circuit, which regenerates the data and reconstructs the clock eliminating jitter;

subsequently the signal is converted by the PureStream DSD512 engine at 22 MHz, which performs pure upsampling in DSD 8x format;

the new proprietary SpectraWave FIR 64-Tap Sequencer processor (patent pending), synchronized at 22 MHz and made entirely with discrete components, reconstructs the waveform with exceptional precision, ensuring perfect time alignment, phase coherence and almost total reduction of noise and artifacts;

The signal finally reaches a balanced Class A output stage, directly coupled, characterized by high current, very low output impedance and the total absence of transformers or filters in the signal path.
