HERITAGE CD100 CD Player

Here's a great CD player that lives up to its name: HERITAGE. All products in the Heritage range use the same elegant brushed aluminum chassis, available in two different finishes: silver or black. The on/off switch is located on the bottom of the chassis, towards the front left.

The CD transport controls are toggles. They're distinctive, different, and synonymous with YBA, which is a good thing in this increasingly anonymous and homogenous world. Plus, they're incredibly fun to use. Skipping a track is much more satisfying if you can flick a spring-loaded toggle up or down rather than pressing a button. The same goes for pausing and resuming playback. Pressing the pause button down to pause playback, and then down again to resume, is a completely different and truly satisfying experience.

The rightmost toggle switch (labeled SRC, for Sampling Rate Converter) activates the CD100's upsampling circuitry, which upsamples digital data to 192 kHz before D/A conversion, whether from the CD or an external digital input. The active upsampling circuit is indicated by the small green "192k" text appearing on the front panel display, whose main colours are a rather elegant and discreet burnt orange and black.

On the rear panel you'll find fully differential balanced outputs via XLR connectors, unbalanced outputs via RCA terminals, a coaxial digital output (useful if you want to use the CD100 as a transport with an external DAC), a coaxial digital input (for using the CD100 as a DAC with an external CD transport or older CD player), and a USB Type-B input, which provides the CD100 with a computer interface, allowing you to play files stored on your computer.
