Louis Poulsen Ph 4½-3½ Glass table lamp 24 cm white - chrome

This lamp was designed by the Japanese design studio Nendo and designer Oki Sato. NJP Table is a new interpretation of the classic architect's lamp. Its simple and direct appearance contains the functional components of the lamp and makes its expression immediately understandable. The applications of the lamp have been considered in every detail. The two joints on the arm offer great flexibility, making it easy to set the position of the lamp. In addition to this, the joint springs are exposed and thus contribute to the decorative expression of the lamp. Likewise, the rear opening of the lampshade towards the arm guarantees continuous adjustment of the head and ventilation of the LED units.

Lighting system

The luminaire provides direct horizontal glare-free light, while at the same time reflecting part of the light via the back of the head, illuminating the upper part of the arm. The ergonomic design of the luminaire head gives shape to the light and gives it optimal direction. A simple mechanical system ensures great freedom of movement, so that the light is always set in the ideal position in the workspace. The lampshade is painted white on the inside, and produces a diffused and pleasant reflection of light.

This product complies with requirements contained in the European Directives, RoHS Directive 2011/65 and 2015/863. The product has been designed so that it can be completely disassembled and reused. Louis Poulsen is part of ELRETUR which guarantees the reuse of electronic waste (WEEE) in Europe. This product must be treated as electronic waste. The product is packaged in a fabric bag and a cardboard box. Cardboard is made with at least 75% recycled fiber. The additional cardboard material comes from FSC approved sources.

NENDO - OKI SATO

In 2002 Oki Sato founded the design studio nendo. Nendo means “clay” in Japanese, or more specifically, modeling clay like plasticine. An exclusive material that makes creative modeling easy.

As Oki Sato explains: “The name is suitable for a studio that needs to develop design solutions for a very different set of clients ”. Oki Sato does not look at design like many iconic designers, who focused on the mantra “form follows function”. Behind the product and its design, it also looks for history.

Its expression is minimalist, but contains some signals and some details that bring out memories. It uses soft and pleasant shapes that make its design comfortable at first sight.
