Louis Poulsen Ph 3/2 table lamp bedside table white - chrome

The PH 3 ½-2 ½ table lamp was designed in 1928 and represents one of the major development projects undertaken by PH alongside the creation of its world-famous three-shade system. The table lamp is based on PH's original designs and features the first type of shade housing, with adjustable screws. The metal top screen has a curved edge, a stabilizing feature that makes the screen appear thicker than the material. The two lower screens are made of mouth-blown opaline glass. PH found that this combination uses the source more efficiently, directing the light downwards due to reflection from the white inner surface of the top screen. The frame is made of brown painted brass which gives the lamp the same appearance as burnished brass lamps, a process which is no longer recommended for environmental reasons.

Lighting system

The louvre is 100% glare-free, with a design based on the principle of the three-reflective screen system, which directs most of the light downwards. The white painted underside of the upper screen gently directs the light downwards. The lower blown opal glass screens guarantee a glare-free lighting surface, using the source optimally to provide functional and comfortable lighting. The opal glass screens are glossy on the outside and opaque on the inside.
