AirLens - The AirLens™ interface brings perfection to streaming
Audio streaming via Roon or other services like Qobuz Connect, Tidal, and Spotify puts millions of songs at your fingertips. Unfortunately, connecting your DAC, which is usually sensitive to noise generated by computers, routers, NAS, local networks, and modems via Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable, isn't the ideal solution for enjoying high-quality audio in your listening environment. PS Audio AirLens™ completely eliminates noise, jitter, and electromagnetic interference thanks to complete galvanic isolation and perfect reclocking of the digital audio signal. You haven't discovered how great audio streaming can be until you experience it with the AirLens.
Project
Whether you use Roon, Audirvana, JRiver, Tidal Direct, Spotify, your NAS, or any DLNA-compatible server, you'll always introduce unwanted noise into your particularly sensitive DAC. USB connection to your computer is by far the noisiest method, closely followed by Ethernet or Wi-Fi. To completely eliminate this harmful noise, you need to eliminate any electrical connections between your computer, network, and DAC. The PS Audio AirLens features both a galvanically isolated reclocked input and output stage. The two are connected exclusively "over the air." Thanks to the use of separate power supplies, there are no physical ground or signal connections, ensuring 100% isolation and noise-free reproduction of flawless digital audio signals.
Application
By eliminating the noisy USB connection to your computer and instead placing PS Audio AirLens between your home network and your device via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, your music streaming performance will change forever. When connected to any DAC, the AirLens interface will deliver exceptional transparency, resolution, tonal realism, and wide dynamic range to any D/A converter. Noise from a variety of sources, including your computer, long Ethernet cables, electromagnetic interference from Wi-Fi, your modem, and your system's router, contributes to increased jitter and reduced audio fidelity. By connecting the DAC via the coaxial or I2S inputs, you completely eliminate the interference and congestion caused by these noise sources.
Galvanic Isolation
Galvanic isolation means the complete elimination of any physical electrical connection between input and output. Typically, a common power supply provides ground and power to both the inputs and outputs. When a non-galvanically isolated device is connected to an input noise source, the shared ground transmits the noise through a common ground to the output stage where the DAC is connected. The challenge with the AirLens was to design two completely isolated stages: input and output, and connect the digital audio signal between the two without any loss. To do this, we integrated a low-noise, galvanically isolated DC-DC converter to power the AirLens output stage. We then transmit the received digital audio data to this clean output stage using only air as an interface. The results are nothing short of astonishing. Finally, stream music without noise, jitter, and congestion.
Digital Lens Technology
Digital audio signals rely on fundamental time stability to deliver optimal sound. Relying on a computer clock or a streaming interface's clock is generally not ideal. When network music data enters a computer or streaming interface, it is not associated with any clock. Once collected, the master clock must be added for the DAC to function properly. Inside AirLens is our renowned Digital Lens technology. Based on a variable RAM buffer, the technology collects and stores data before sending it to the DAC via a high-precision, low-jitter fixed clock. This data resynchronization, combined with noise suppression, provides the DAC with the cleanest, lowest-jitter digital audio signal possible. The results are extraordinary. Suddenly, streaming music sounds like music played locally on your device. Experience the AirLens difference.
What to expect
Whether you choose to stream music via Roon, Audirvana, JRiver, Tidal Direct, Spotify, or any DLNA-compatible source (like your NAS), adding PS Audio AirLens between your network and your DAC will set a new standard for musicality. Simply connect your network to AirLens via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, then connect your DAC to AirLens via coaxial cable (RCA) or I2S (via an HDMI cable), and then sit back and be amazed. AirLens connects any DAC to the outside world via your home network and protects your sensitive DAC from any unwanted interference from cables, computers, and Wi-Fi. AirLens handles PCM up to 384 kHz and DSD up to 256 (4X) in DoP or native. The world of streaming just took a huge leap forward in terms of sound quality. We can't wait for you to experience everything streaming has to offer.
