Thinking about using multiple Paradigm X-500s? We’ve got you covered. When you need more amplifiers, you don’t have to waste that precious rack space. An optional link bracket (sold separately) is available to mount two units side by side in the same rack space. With a 1U high and half rack width form factor, the X-500 allows for 4 high-powered channels in a single rack space.

Powerful Pairings: Using multiple subwoofers, especially in a home theater, has many benefits. Multiple subwoofers provide more even bass coverage throughout the room so every seat receives smoother, more consistent bass, ensuring there are no "bad seats." Additionally, by distributing the bass across multiple subwoofers, each sub shares some of the bass load instead of relying on a single sub. By sharing the work across multiple subwoofers, distortion and potential stress on components are reduced, resulting in smoother sound.

The most obvious benefit of increasing the number of subwoofers is that the potential maximum output level is increased, ensuring you have plenty of "headroom" in your system to allow for those dynamic movie explosions or dramatic musical passages. Simply put, the more subs, the better! The X-500 has built-in DSP presets optimized for both single and dual subwoofer configurations, meaning you can run up to 2 Paradigm custom subwoofers from a single X-500, and with the optional attachment bracket you can fit 2 X-500s in a single rack space, bringing the potential to run 4 subs from a single rack space!

Paradigm have designed optimized DSP presets for our architectural in-wall subwoofers and outdoor products to provide the highest levels of performance and reliability. While most installations will be able to utilize bass management within the AVR or AV processor, we also understand that there are situations where a separate low-pass filter may be desirable.

Paradigm Defiance custom subwoofers feature multiple DSP preset options, allowing for multiple system configurations, multiple subwoofers, and low-pass filter options to meet the needs of your installation.

Input Flexibility

The Paradigm X-500 features a variety of inputs, including Stereo RCA and selectable Digital Coax or Digital Optical, providing ample flexibility for connecting to your favorite source. Additionally, the X-500's dedicated Subwoofer (LFE) input makes it incredibly easy to power custom subwoofers, like our DCS208IW3 and DCS208FR3, by connecting directly to the "Subwoofer Out" of your AVR or AV processor. This allows the X-500 to utilize the bass management in your AVR or AV processor without any additional processing applied. Alternatively, the Stereo RCA input can be used if a low-pass filter is required.
