The NJP series was designed by Oki Sato, founder of the nendo design studio, with the aim of creating a new interpretation of the classic corner lamp - with all its familiar details - in a contemporary design, with functions adapted to the modern working life, both in the office and at home. The head and flexible arms of the NJP Parete lamp offer exceptional adjustability, a feature not always present in standard wall lamps. This measure makes the NJP very suitable for bedrooms, particularly in the case of height-adjustable beds which complicate the positioning of a fixed wall lamp. It is equipped with an LED light source, positioned high on the lamp to avoid glaring and unpleasant lighting. A refined and practical detail is its "chimney" shaped head which reflects part of the light to the back, illuminating the upper section of the arm and allowing the heat of the light source to dissipate.

Lighting system

The luminaire provides direct horizontal light without glare, while at the same time reflecting a part of the light through the back of the head, illuminating the most upper arm. The ergonomic design of the luminaire head shapes the light and gives it optimal direction. A simple mechanical system ensures great freedom of movement, so that the light is always set in the ideal position in the workspace. The lampshade is painted white on the inside, and produces a diffused and pleasant reflection of the light.

Environmental information on the product

This product complies with requirements contained in the European Directives, RoHS Directive 2011/65 and 2015/863. The product has been designed so that it can be completely disassembled and reused. Louis Poulsen is part of ELRETUR which guarantees the reuse of electronic waste (WEEE) in Europe. This product must be treated as electronic waste. The product is packaged in a fabric bag and a cardboard box. Cardboard is made with at least 75% recycled fiber. The additional cardboard material comes from FSC approved sources.

NENDO - OKI SATO

In 2002 Oki Sato founded the design studio nendo. Nendo means “clay” in Japanese, or more specifically, modeling clay like plasticine. A unique material that makes creative modeling easy.

As Oki Sato explains: “The name is suitable for a studio that has to develop design solutions for a very different set of clients.” Oki Sato does not look at design like many iconic designers, who focused on the mantra “form follows function”. Behind the product and its design, also look for the story.

Its expression is minimalist, but contains some signals and details that bring out memories. It uses soft and pleasant shapes that make its design comfortable at first sight.
