The NJP series was designed by Oki Sato, founder of the nendo design studio, with the aim of creating a new interpretation of the classic corner lamp - with all its familiar details - in a contemporary design, with adapted functions to modern working life, both in the office and at home. The head and flexible arms of the NJP Parete lamp offer exceptional adjustability, a feature not always present in standard wall lamps. This measure makes the NJP very suitable for bedrooms, particularly in the case of height-adjustable beds which complicate the positioning of a fixed wall lamp. It is equipped with an LED light source, positioned high on the lamp to avoid glaring and unpleasant lighting. A refined and practical detail is its chimney-shaped head which reflects part of the light to the back, illuminating the upper section of the arm and allowing the heat of the light source to dissipate. In 2022, a new version of the NJP Parete is introduced, with a wall box that allows the lamp to be mounted directly on the socket. The wall box was designed by nendo and follows the same shape as the base of the table and floor lamp with a trapezoid, narrowing from the front towards the wall. Pair with NJP products for a streamlined, modern look.

Lighting system

The luminaire provides direct horizontal light that is glare-free and reflects over time some of the light through the back of the head, illuminating the upper arm. The ergonomic design of the luminaire head shapes the light for optimal orientation. A simple mechanical system ensures maximum freedom of movement, so that the light is always set in the ideal position in the workspace. The internal part of the screen is painted white and reflects a comfortable diffused light.

NENDO - OKI SATO

In 2002 Oki Sato he founded the design studio nendo. Nendo means “clay” in Japanese, or more specifically, modeling clay like plasticine. An exclusive material that makes creative modeling easy.

As Oki Sato explains: “The name is suitable for a studio that needs to develop design solutions for a very different set of clients ”. Oki Sato does not look at design like many iconic designers, who focused on the mantra “form follows function”. Behind the product and its design, it also looks for history.

Its expression is minimalist, but contains some signals and some details that bring out memories. It uses soft and pleasant shapes that make its design comfortable at first sight.
