Louis Poulsen Vl Ring Crown Wall single wall lamp white brass

The VL Ring Crown series has its origins in a 1940s lamp design by architect Vilhelm Lauritzen for the Danish Broadcasting House in Copenhagen. The wall and pendant versions, with their characteristic organic shape, were installed at the Danish Broadcasting House. Vilhelm Lauritzen also created the VL38 and VL45 lamps for this project. The original VL Ring Crown was never used, but not long after, a Ring Crown was launched that drew inspiration from the original designs. In 1947, designer Finn Juhl, who worked for Vilhelm Lauritzen, used the VL Ring Crown as part of the interior design for the Danish porcelain manufacturer Bing & Grøndahl in Copenhagen. True to its original design and materials, the VL Ring Crown was reintroduced in 2019. It is made of polished, untreated brass and is available with three, five or seven shades of three-layer, mouth-blown, polished white opal glass. It has been joined by the wall lamps and pendants originally installed by the Danish Broadcasting House. The VL Ring Crown family brings an authentic and distinctive touch to the world's most elegant interiors, as well as providing a warm light to gently illuminate contemporary living.

Lighting system

The wall lamp emits light directed mainly downwards. The opal glass makes the area around the fixture comfortable and evenly lit.

Louis Poulsen is part of ELRETUR which ensures the reuse of electronic waste (WEEE) in Europe. This product must be treated as electronic waste. The product is packed in a fabric bag and a cardboard box. The cardboard is made from at least 75% recycled fibre. The additional cardboard material comes from FSC approved sources.

VILHELM LAURITZEN

Vilhelm Lauritzen (1894-1984) is one of the most significant Danish architects; he was a pioneer of Danish Functionalism. Many of his buildings, including the Nørrebro Theatre, the Daells Varehus department store, the Radiohuset and the first airport built in Kastrup, represented the concentrated essence of contemporary life.
