Analog Preamplifier
The ALTAIR G2.2 retains the proven analog preamplifier function of the original ALTAIR G2.1, now enhanced with an output level increased from 4.4V to 6V to meet the demands of high-power amplifiers. ORFEO Class-A output modules ensure the balanced output can drive loads well below 600 ohms with minimal performance degradation. Users have the option to disable the preamplifier function in software and reduce the output level to 2V, allowing for seamless integration with external preamplifiers. Additionally, a convenient home theater bypass mode is available for the analog input channels, providing maximum flexibility for your audio setup.
Analog Volume Control
The ALTAIR G2.2 features a ladder-type analog volume control, recognized as the best method for achieving high-performance audio reproduction. Unlike digital volume controls, which carefully reduce the signal level but cannot address background noise, analog volume control reduces both the signal level and background noise while preserving the system's dynamic range. Using eight coil-latch relays, this volume control system consumes no power and emits no electromagnetic interference when inactive, ensuring noise- and distortion-free control.
