Arcam AVR5 4K Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 Channel AV Receiver Grey

The Arcam AVR5 is an AV receiver that decodes up to 12 channels of Dolby Atmos (upmixed from Dolby Surround) and DTS:X (upmixed from DTS:Neural:X) and is compatible with 4K HDR10 and Dolby Vision video signals, as well as supporting AirPlay2, Bluetooth aptX HD, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, MQA (great for TIDAL Masters listeners) and Roon.

Inside the AVR5 are two ESS ES9026PRO DACs, the same ones found in the more expensive AVR30. There are also seven channels of 85W class AB amplification, driven by a custom-designed linear power supply capable of sustaining 1.5KW of total power consumption. Those who need the full 12 channels in a 7.1.4 setup, for example, will need to add a separate power amplifier.

There’s also eARC support for lossless audio, while HDMI 2.1 support requires an upgrade. This will need to be carried out by an authorised Arcam service centre.

The updated Harman MusicLife UPnP app also allows playback and control of the AVR5 via Android and iOS devices, as well as providing access to internet radio, music streaming and podcasts. The Arcam ARV5 also supports Roon, giving subscribers access to Qobuz, TIDAL, network libraries and multi-room audio.

Finally, the Arcam AVR5 also supports Dirac Live, the professional-grade room correction system. This requires downloading the Dirac optimization tool for Mac or PC and purchasing a license.
