The ROMA117DC brings the experience gained by Luigi Lorenzon and his team in over thirty years of audio design to the heart of the Hi-Fi system. This tube preamplifier combines select components, versatile connections, and a refined aesthetic, designed to enhance the detail and expressiveness of music. Pairing it with the ROMA98DC monoblock power amplifiers allows for a coordinated system design, in line with the style of the ROMA Series.

Tube Circuitry and Low Impedance Outputs

The design is based on a two-stage audio circuit with four carefully selected 6922/ECC88 tubes. A dedicated tube section handles balanced and unbalanced inputs, while the output stage uses proprietary low-impedance transformers.

This solution facilitates integration with various power amplifiers and connection cables, offering great freedom in system configuration. The frequency response, extended from 5 Hz to 40 kHz at −3 dB, helps preserve signal information across a wide frequency range.

Stable Power Supply and Selected Components

Both the anode and filament power supplies are electronically regulated, with stability better than 0.1%. A low-noise toroidal transformer completes the power supply section, designed to provide consistent operating conditions for the audio circuitry.

Metal film resistors, polypropylene capacitors, and tubes controlled to reduce noise and microphonics testify to the attention paid to the construction. The electronic selectors are positioned near the inputs to reduce the length of the signal paths and limit interference between channels.

Headphone listening and remote control

The ROMA117DC integrates a headphone amplifier, accessible via the 6.3 mm jack connector on the front. This feature allows the preamplifier to also be used for personal listening.

The supplied remote control allows you to adjust the volume and select the source directly from the listening position.

A distinctive aesthetic

The metal chassis is complemented by a wooden front panel with transparent red lacquer, a finish that enhances the material and gives the preamplifier a recognizable presence. The ROMA117DC fits into the system as an audio component and as a furnishing element, maintaining the elegant identity of the ROMA Series.
