GENESIS PH1 PHONE PREAMPLIFIER

The PH1 is compatible with MM, low-output MC, and high-output MC cartridges. Never connect MM and MC cartridges at the same time, as the high amplification factor may cause output noise. The PH1's front-panel selector switch offers only two options (MM or MC), although it also accepts high-output MC cartridges. The circuitry is designed to automatically detect the type of moving coil cartridge being used and adjust the settings accordingly, provided the correct selection is made via the rear-panel switch.

Power for the PH1 is provided by 10 NCR18650 batteries charged via a 24V power adapter. The PH1 must be fully charged before use, a simple process with all the necessary information clearly displayed. Under optimal conditions, the batteries can be charged up to 10,000 times, with each full charge providing up to 8 hours of battery life.

The operating instructions are simple, but it's important to keep them in mind since the product is battery-powered. The PH1 must be fully charged before first use—this is a simple procedure, clearly explained in the manual. As long as the power supply is connected and turned on, the battery level will automatically recharge during use as it decreases. When not in use, unplug the power supply and turn off the PH1 using the switch on the bottom of the unit. It's a good idea to regularly turn on the PH1 and connect the power supply to check the battery level. If it's low, it needs to be recharged. If it's left on but not in use, the batteries will drain over time.

Yves-Bernard André designed a specific moving coil cartridge transformer for use in the PH1. Thanks to its design, the YBA transformer is particularly suited to meet the different characteristics of moving coil cartridges. It allows you to highlight the smallest details of a reading at a very high level.
