The Musical Fidelity LS5/9 has become an industry standard for music studios because it was the ideal solution for every genre. This is also why it has gained increasing popularity in living rooms as well. It is capable of delivering high sound pressure levels with low coloration and powerful bass. Music remains controlled throughout and the LS5/9 does not seem to be overstressed. In particular, the stereo center is well defined and vocals remain natural. Furthermore, the stereo information from the instruments is clear and the soundstage never seems synthetic.

The LS5/9 has been produced by several loudspeaker manufacturers over many decades and we are delighted to include this special speaker in our Musical Fidelity range.

The original design for the LS5/9 dates back to 1983, when the BBC, following the success of the LS3/5°, wanted to create a higher sound pressure, bass reflex loaded monitor that could correctly reproduce any genre of music, from pop to classical. Having been designed as a studio monitor, the aim was also to produce a sound free from particular colourations. The speaker made by Musical Fidelity is equipped with the same drivers, obviously updated and improved compared to those used 40 years ago, and are a 210mm bass-mid driver, bass reflex loaded, combined with a 34mm dome tweeter. The high frequency level is adjustable (- 1 / 0 /+ 1dB) by resistance steps to suit your listening preferences. The cabinet is constructed from 9mm birch plywood with a cherry finish. The LS5/9 is neutral, honest and brings you the music exactly as the mixing engineer intended it to sound.
