In 2016, the Radiohus pendant was reintroduced as the VL45 Radiohus Pendant. It was originally designed in the 1940s by architect Vilhelm Lauritzen in collaboration with Louis Poulsen for the construction of the Radiohuset building (the headquarters of Danish Radio) in Copenhagen. The lamp features the original design, with a brass suspension and a shade with three levels of mouth-blown glass. The inner and outer levels are made of polished clear glass, while the middle level is made of white glass. In 2019, the two existing sizes were supplemented with a smaller size, for more possibilities of use and distribution.
Lighting system
The luminaire provides general, uniform and diffuse lighting. The opening in the lower part of the glass emits light directed downwards. The quality of the glass ensures uniform lighting of the device.
