In 2016 the Radiohus pendant lamp was reintroduced under the name VL45 Radiohus Pendant. It was originally designed in the 1940s by architect Vilhelm Lauritzen in collaboration with Louis Poulsen during the construction of the Radiohuset building (the headquarters of Danish Radio) in Copenhagen. The lamp features the original design, with a brass suspension and a shade with three levels of mouth-blown glass. The innermost and external levels are in polished transparent glass, while the intermediate level is in white glass. In 2019, the two existing sizes were integrated with a smaller size, to have more possibilities of use and distribution.
Lighting system
The luminaire provides general, uniform and diffused lighting. The opening at the bottom of the glass emits light directed downwards. The quality of the glass guarantees homogeneous lighting of the device.
