The Musical Fidelity M6xi now features HDMI eARC, allowing for easy integration with TVs and home theater systems while delivering high-end hi-fi stereo performance. Additionally, new coaxial and optical digital inputs expand connectivity for a wide range of digital sources, complementing the existing high-resolution USB input. A completely new feature is the high-quality, isolated USB power output. Designed as a separate, linear, ripple-free power supply, it allows you to power modern USB streamers directly from the amplifier. The result is simple system integration and a significant performance improvement for your favorite streaming source. For custom installations and advanced system control, the Musical Fidelity M6xi also includes RS232.

Phono Stage

Vinyl playback receives equal attention thanks to the new MM and MC phono stage. Compared to the stage in the M6si, this is a completely new design. The improved circuit design and layout, combined with increased insulation and shielding, significantly reduce noise and distortion. The result is a phono input capable of revealing all the warmth, depth, and detail of quality vinyl recordings. Vinyl enthusiasts will greatly appreciate the addition of an MC stage, as the old M5si only featured a MM phono stage. The position of the transformer and power supply circuit board have been carefully optimized and encapsulated in a metal casing to reduce electromagnetic interference to all parts of the amplifier. The phono stage circuitry benefits greatly, as it operates with high amplification factors of up to 1,000. It is absolutely crucial to shield the high-gain amplifier stages from any external interference.

Separate Digital Boards

Digital and analog hardware must be carefully separated from each other. Even the smallest amount of RF interference is known to cause problems for analog amplifier stages. Therefore, the digital and ARC circuit boards are physically separated on their own PCBs and have a dedicated linear power supply. Coaxial, optical, and USB-C digital inputs accept high-resolution sampling rates up to 24-bit 192kHz, while the HDMI eARC input lets you bring your home theater to life and power it up with the M6xi's powerful analog amplifier stages.

Inputs and Connectivity

The Musical Fidelity M6xi features 4 RCA line inputs and a balanced XLR input. The integrated MM and MC phono stage has undergone significant upgrades over the M6si. For maximum flexibility, the M6xi also includes a home theater bypass input. The HT input completely bypasses the preamp stage, allowing seamless integration with home theater processors and allowing the M6xi to function as a high-performance stereo power amplifier for the left and right speakers within a multi-channel system. Digital connectivity has also been expanded to meet the needs of modern audio systems. New optical, coaxial, and HDMI eARC inputs offer versatile digital connectivity, while a new USB-C input supports high-resolution audio up to 24-bit/192kHz. For custom setup and system control, the Musical Fidelity M6xi now features an RS232 interface. Additionally, a new 5V/2A USB-A power output allows the amplifier to conveniently power modern external streamers, simplifying system setup and reducing the need for additional power supplies. This output has its own winding in the main transformer and a linear power supply, effectively doubling as an upgrade to your streamer's power supply. The USB input features a carefully optimized digital circuit layout, specifically designed to minimize high-frequency interference within the M5xi. This meticulous design protects the delicate analog signal path, ensuring the digital section never compromises the amplifier's sonic purity. For system expansion, the Musical Fidelity M5xi includes dedicated preamp output connections. Exceptional build quality

The M6xi's front panel is machined from a solid extruded aluminum profile. The chassis's build quality ensures excellent resistance to the effects of environmental vibrations. The same applies to electromagnetic immunity, with the entire metal chassis acting as a Faraday cage. It protects the internal components from external electromagnetic fields and, conversely, the rest of your Hi-Fi system from the electromagnetic fields generated by the M6xi.

New remote control

The remote control for the new Musical Fidelity M6xi has been completely redesigned. The new design features an elegant, lightweight structure that fits naturally and comfortably in the hand, making everyday use more practical. Carefully color-coded with the distinctive Musical Fidelity branding, the remote control is designed for seamless universal compatibility with all Musical Fidelity M-Line components, including amplifiers, CD players, and DACs. A single, beautifully designed controller allows effortless command of your entire system.
