Louis Poulsen Doo-woo pendant lamp 28 cm dark grey

Introduced in 1950, this lamp was born from the collaboration between the Navy Buildings Department and Louis Poulsen. The pendant was used for many years in Navy buildings in various environments: canteens, offices, etc. The pendant, called “Navy,” at the time, was widely used for its unique features. In the early 1980s, Louis Poulsen stopped producing it. The design appears timeless but has a strong correlation to the New Look of the 1950s. In 2012, it was reintroduced as Doo-Wop in new colors and a brass version. and in 2017 in copper and stainless steel. The production methods are the same and the diffusers are still hand-crafted and characterized by the rounded edge that gives a special optical volume. The brass variant is a “challenge” for the craftsmen, as it is made from a solid brass plate and has a shiny appearance.

Lighting system

The luminaire, thanks to its internal conical reflector, painted white, directs a soft light downwards. The external reflector, the main screen, helps direct the light upwards and downwards, simultaneously diffusing a soft, diffused light. The inside of the main screen is illuminated through an opening in the smaller conical reflector.
