Pure power

The SPL Performer s1200 features the same aesthetic design as the Performer m1000 mono power amplifier, and internally it also features many of the same features as its monoblock sibling. With a power output of 2 x 520 W (4Ω) - 2 x 550 W (2Ω); 2 x 300 W (8Ω), this power amplifier is capable of perfectly controlling any speaker, even the most demanding. Thanks to proprietary VOLTAiR technology, the performance of the s1200 is rich in detail, responsive, transparent, and simply grounded in reality.

Unique design

In addition to the choice of black, red, or silver basic finishes, there are various options for customizing the Performer s1200 to suit individual design preferences. Nine different color combinations can be created with the included black, red, or silver decorative magnetic center panels.

Absolute Protection

The Performer s1200 features a protection circuit against DC voltage and overheating. If DC current is detected, the output stage automatically switches off and the red “Protect” LED lights up immediately. To protect the s1200 from the unlikely event of overheating, a temperature sensor on the heatsink continuously monitors the temperature of the device. The TEMP LED lights up yellow when the Performer s1200 is overheating. As a result, the output stage is switched off and the fans run at high speed until the device has cooled down.

Freedom of Connections

The SPL Performer s1200 features a pair of XLR and RCA inputs. This makes it compatible with all preamplifiers on the market without the use of adapters. The chosen stereo input can be selected via the Input Select switch located on the rear panel.

Sensitivity adjustment

Another feature, unknown to many power amplifiers, is the ability to adjust the input sensitivity in 0.5 dB steps from 0 dB to -5.5 dB with a simple trimmer. This function is considered "audiophile", as it best adapts the preamplifier, power amplifier, and speaker chain.

Output connectors

The speaker binding posts can accommodate both banana plugs and a stripped cable with a maximum diameter of 4 mm. Speakers with an impedance of less than 2 ohms cannot be connected.

AMP CTL Mode

The power amplifier standby mode can be activated and deactivated using the AMP CTL link between a preamplifier such as the Director Mk2, Elector, Phonitor x or Crossover. To do this, simply connect a 3.5 mm cable between the preamplifier and the power amplifier. Thanks to the 12 V trigger input, all preamplifiers, even those from competitors, will be able to activate and deactivate the Performer s1200's standby mode.

Full Power

The SPL Performer s1200 features individual amplifier circuits for both voltage and power amplification, which ensures perfect overall operation of the class AB power amplifier. Furthermore, the negative feedback control circuitry of each stage categorically excludes any potential speaker feedback from interacting with the input stage. Thanks to VOLTAiR technology, the Performer s1200 can reach very high levels without any problems.

Forced ventilation

Inside the Performer s1200, there are six fans that normally never run, because 90% of the heat is dissipated passively through generous heat sinks. However, if the fans were to activate for any reason, the maximum audible noise would be 19dB (A), practically inaudible.
